A Message from Peter Santangelo, President of Wintrust Community Advantage

Dear Community Advantage Client:

We are living in unprecedented times. The COVID-19 crisis is impacting every single one of us directly, sometimes in very challenging ways. The combined fear for our personal and financial health is a powerful force. The stability of your condominium, townhome, and homeowner associations has become and will continue to be an even more critical part of your residents’ lives as they shelter-in-place in the coming month and potentially beyond.

When faced with times like these, it’s important to know who you can count on, and you can definitely count on us. While the changes in today’s world are nothing like we have experienced before, we have marshalled all of our resources to take on the new (and hopefully temporary) environment. I want to offer a few thoughts that have come up in some of my most recent conversations and share answers to some questions I have received from clients.

We want to know how you are doing. Since this pandemic hit the U.S. in earnest in the middle of March, we reached out to the majority of our condominium, townhome, and homeowner associations clients.  We want to know how the crisis is impacting your organizations and residents, and where you might need our help.  We have adjusted our credit process to respond to your changing circumstances as quickly as possible and stand ready to work with you to individually craft a plan that gets you through to the return of normal life.

We are here for you. While some of us are in the office, many are sheltering in place and working from home. Wherever we are, our bankers and client-support professionals have the ability to handle your day-to-day transactions. We are ready to discuss challenges that you may encounter. You should be able to get in touch with us as easily as on an ordinary business day.

We are financially strong. Our balance sheet is ready for this crisis. Wintrust Financial Corporation and its affiliates are “well-capitalized” as defined by our regulators. We have a stable core deposit funding base from clients like you which allows us to meet the borrowing needs of our clients. In addition, we have had 23 consecutive years of profitability. All of this means we are well-positioned to support our clients through tough times, while maintaining a healthy financial position.

We are open for business. Our Community Advantage team remains ready to help with your specialized banking needs. We are hearing every day from clients adapting to these challenging conditions in unique and exciting ways.

For more than 20 years, the Wintrust Community Advantage brand promise has always been to provide high quality, personal service and individually crafted banking solutions. The current crisis may be challenging for all of us, and our aim will always to be a strategic partner to you and to earn your banking business.

Thank you so much for allowing us to be your banking partner. We know that you depend on us, and we take that trust and responsibility very seriously.

Stay Healthy,

Peter Santangelo
